Respectable unobtrusive people like you and me, who have a strong interest in japanese history,
arts and the desire for creative craftmanship.

Aikido, a modern japanese art of self- defense was the means of gathering together the first
hobby-Samurai in 1979. The catalogues of museums and the film „The warrior’s shadow“ by Akira Kurosawa served as a first pattern to build armour and sew clothes. New information was brought home from Japan. The Iaido master Sagawa Sensai hints that the journey through life (Bushido) is essential to the Samurai. This is why we have tried to present the behaviour and attitudes of the Samurai besides using our knowledge in arts and crafts. The social moulding of the 21st century presents some difficulties for the 15 members of our group as far as japanese behaviour is
concerned. That is why we chose a democratic structure for our group.

Historical references serve as models for the articles of armour and clothing that we make by hand. We find fulfilment in this work as well as in passing on our knowlegde to the visitors of events.
